I'm going to start being creative. Fuck. I will make new art. I just uploaded a new ID to mark a new era of me pretending I'm going to do shit, then not really doing it. But I'm gonna try to actually do shit. Seriously. I also moved some stuff to my scraps, because I didn't want to delete it, but wasn't really pleased with it.
I've seen David Lynch's new film INLAND EMPIRE three times now, except the version I downloaded is dubbed in Italian. There's no English version available yet that I know of. (The official release date for the English Region 1 DVD is August 14.) Nevertheless, it is fucking incredible. I can only imagine how much I'll love it when I can actually understand the dialogue, haha.
I've also been trying to expand my creativity into filmmaking, which is a major artistic goal of mine. I've been working on ideas for both a short and feature length film. (Amusingly enough, some of the ideas I had thought of for my own shit were pretty similar to parts of INLAND EMPIRE, and this was before I had even seen the film. Clearly, I am far too obsessed with Lynch, haha, need to make a conscious effort not to rip him off too much.) Once I have money (see below) I'm going to get involved with the Newfoundland and Labrador Independent Filmmakers Cooperative. That should help me learn the ropes. Then I need more money. More and more money.
As of right now though, I am jobless, and bedless. It sucks. The joblessness is now just temporary until hopefuly July 30th at which point I should have a wonderful new call center job. Good times. Bedlessness is more my father's fault. He's had 10 months or more now, surely the opportunity has arisen at SOME point to get my bed out to my apartment from back home. Instead, I've been sleeping on an air mattress (which is atop two old, lumpy-as-fuck mattresses, for added height and some added comfort). That air mattress sprung a leak back in, I'd say March. Now when I wake up in the morning, it's probably three quarters deflated.
And with that, I leave you with a really good interview with the late, great Lester Bangs.
