The Fourth Floor by subvertanddestroy The Fourth Floor by subvertanddestroy
00:04 - The Fourth Floor

I don't even know. I guess this is part of the series of floors. It's a room, with a weird guy and a door, so...

Here are the people whose photos I jacked for this wankfest:

~lillyfly06-stock (The television)
~Glo-Stock-Vintage (The guy)
Crim from sxc.hu (The room; [link])
DawnAllynn from sxc.hu (The door; [link])

Inspiration courtesy of Max Ernst and We Are Scientists. (Well, the latter more so just a soundtrack than inspiration. They're awesome.)

Well, awesome. Great concept, and very well put together. You make the scene seem quite believable.

whoa that tv really screwed with my perception... and that means you did a good job :D

I really dig your color, and the uneasy composition. The textures are sooo nice

i dont like the lighting.

the shadow on the man is too harsh when you have a shadow under the tv implying some for of overhead directed on an angle at the wall... therefore there are two light sources on the man and his shadow wouldnt look like that. it needs two and one hasta be real soft like... and the tv needs a shadow on the right from the left light source.. i unno its really cool and all i just, do not like the lighting.

and howd you get my parents wedding portrait you creeper? lol. just jocking you.

p.s.
feel free to hate me.

This should carry a warning: "sarah don't look this will freak you out"

Saying that, I love things that freak me out! I love the T.V on the wall behind. How do you think of things like this?

Actually, now that I think of it it was partially inspired by an episode of the X-Files, though I forget exactly what was happening. I think there was a man there in front of a video camera but he didn't show up on the camera's LCD screen, or vice versa. So I came up with the idea of TV screens showing what is happening, but hiding and revealing elements that aren't seen.

haha excellent! I do love freaky things like that, but seriously, add a warning next time, I need to come around to these things slowly! Well done Jon!

That reaction makes me happy. :P

Umm...it's an idea I actually have for a short film, but was also kinda used in Inland Empire. I totally came up with the idea before I saw Inland Empire though, so I'm totally not ripping off Lynch, haha. No idea where the idea itself came from though.
